Andrew Scott Ramirez is currently the front ensemble instructor for Granada Hills Charter High School (Granada Hills, Ca), West Ranch High School (Stevenson Ranch, Ca), Palos Verdes High School (Palos Verdes Estates, Ca), and Redondo Union High School (Redondo Beach, Ca). He has been involved in the marching band and indoor percussion activity since 2004 and is an Innovative Percussion Inc. educator.
Andrew is an alumnus of Pacific Crest Drum and Bugle Corps and performed with the ensemble for the summers of 2004 through 2006. He was also a member of Pulse Percussion (PIW) for the 2006 and 2007 seasons. In addition, he has been a member of various pep bands, symphonic bands, concert bands, orchestras, percussion ensembles, and even a barbershop choir. He strongly believes that the opportunity to perform in these ensembles would never have been possible without the help and instruction of all of his past teachers and instructors.
A visual artist since the age of four, Andrew was first introduced to music his junior year in high school and very quickly fell in love with the new art form and his newly learned way of expressing it, percussion. It was soon after, that he decided to assist his band director and percussion instructor as a mallet technician. This choice would eventually lead to him becoming an instructor, teaching concert percussion ensembles, marching percussion ensembles, and private lessons. Combining his passion of the musical and visual arts, Andrew has been available not only as a music/percussion educator but also as a uniform/visual designer as well. He has had the pleasure of working in various areas of southern California with several high schools, The Velvet Knights Drum and Bugle Corps in the summer of 2008, and Full Force Percussion (PIA) helping lead the ensemble to a 2nd place finish at WGI Championships in 2008 as the front ensemble caption head, show designer, and uniform designer.
Andrew is the creator of INDOOR IMAGE, a uniform and visual design company for indoor percussion and color guard (facebook.com/indoorimage) and currerntly resides in Granada Hills, CA. https://www.facebook.com/indoorimage/
